Benefits of hiring an older adult | Human Soul

Mexico, in its next few years, a significant part of the population will grow and, as expected, attention will continue to be focused on young adults (24 to 35 years old). And on the other hand, adults who in the following decades will have an advanced age, what will happen to them?

Today’s youth face one of the worst times of the Mexican economy, because with the elimination of retirement pensions, the idea of coping with old age without government support generates anguish and concern, because without work or pension, how is it? possible to subsist?

Statistics from the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) show that for Mexico, although the legal retirement age is 65 years, the effective retirement age of the average population is rather close to 72 years, because to the deficiencies of an ineffective pension system they are seen to the need to make up for with more years of work

The task of finding or designing work strategies that support older people so that they continue working is less and less relevant, where the company adapts to the nature of the elderly.

Companies are wasting the knowledge and experience that this population has, many judge the elderly as someone unfit to work due to their slowness or loss of physical ability, but if tasks adapted to their physical and mental conditions were proposed, they could get more benefit and have favorable responses both for the company and for the same employee of legal age (50 years and older) allowing the continued generation of wealth for themselves and their families and of course, supporting the growth of the Mexican economy.

* Older adults have highly developed communication skills thanks to the fact that they lived in an era where communication was not dominated by instant messages, social networks or “whatsapps”.

* In relation to the previous point, they have the most developed human sense, therefore, it is easier for them to deal with clients, suppliers, employees, etc.

* At work they are more stable, since their concern is not to grow at work, but to feel useful or that someone needs them, that is why their loyalty and concentration to the company is strong

* Their experience makes them good leaders, as they have the ability to create solutions to problems that may arise at work.
